JJ grew up in Washington, Iowa, graduating from Washington High School in 1995. He went on to attend MIT and received a BS in Computer Science in 2000.
JJ vacationed at West Lake's United Methodist Camp for 8 years growing up.
He married Lori Eich at Gull Point State Park in 2006. In 2023, they made their Iowa
They love bringing family and friends to the area to share the joy and beauty of the lakes region.
JJ works part-time at West O Beer in their pizza kitchen. He loves pizza and being a part of the hospitality industry.
JJ actively serves as a board member for the Friends of Lakeside Laboratory, helping with events and fundraising efforts. He also sings in the vocal choir and plays in the handbell ensemble at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Arnolds Park.
JJ was the official escort for the mascot ("mascort") of the Oakland A's for the 2002 & 2003 seasons, ensuring Stomper masterfully entertained the baseball crowd.
Stitch & Porkchop are JJ's two awesome rescue dogs. They bring joy and energy to his life every day.
JJ prides himself on his hobbies that include cooking, gardening, roasting coffee, tennis, singing karaoke, and hiking around beautiful Okoboji.
